Chenxi Zi is an interdisciplinary artist and environmental humanities researcher working across environmental history, place-based knowledge, and public engagement.

Her practice combines research, writing, tabletop games, visual communication, interactive installation, and documentary media. She currently focuses on the environmental histories and local cultures of seagrass ecosystems while developing Fish Lantern Environment into a platform supporting environmental art, artist residencies, and new narratives for frontline ecological action.

Zi is the founder and executive director of Fish Lantern Environment and a 2023 LeadNext Fellow of The Asia Foundation. She is pursuing an International Master of Environmental Policy at Duke University and Duke Kunshan University.
